DZIRI is not a brand. It is a way of saying ‘this is where I come from’. Of carrying on our shoulders the weight and beauty of a history we were not always told.
We are children of here and there. Born in France, Canada, Belgium — but with Algiers in our voices, the Casbah in our eyes, and the names of the martyrs engraved in our uncles’ first names.
We grew up between two flags. We counted goals, shouted in the streets in July, and listened to our grandmothers’ stories of the war — the one that made all of this possible. DZIRI was born from that overflow of feeling.
Every piece is a fragment. The 213 on the chest, like a secret code between us. The “1964” patch, two years after independence, when the country was learning to walk. The portrait of a martyr, an anonymous stencil, because there were thousands of them, without faces, every one essential.
Sewn here. Imagined at home.
Our pieces are woven and sewn in Portugal, in workshops we visit. Heavyweight cotton, carefully considered finishes, short, numbered runs. We choose to make less, better, and more fairly.
Each year, a share of our profits goes to organisations that document and pass on Algerian memory — because wearing a garment is not enough.
